Merge Outpost Privacy Policy
Summary
Merge Outpost has no accounts and does not ask for your name, email or location. We do not sell your data.
Information stored on your device
Your game progress and settings are saved on your device. The web app stores your progress in your browser on your device. Uninstalling the app, or clearing the site data in your browser, deletes it.
Your age
The first time you open the iPhone or Android app, it asks what year you were born. The app turns the year into an age group (under 13, 13 to 17, or 18 and over), keeps only that group on your device, and does not keep the year. The age group is never sent to us. It decides whether you see ads and whether crash reports can be sent, as described below. The web app does not ask your age, because it has no ads and no crash reports.
Advertising
The app shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use your device's advertising identifier, IP address, approximate location derived from it, and information about how you interact with ads, to serve and measure ads and prevent fraud. We do not receive this data. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from apps that use its services. On iOS the app asks for your permission before tracking, and you can change this later in Settings. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings.
Ads are limited to content rated PG for every player. If you are under 13, the app shows no ads at all, and Google's consent form and Apple's tracking prompt never appear. If you are 13 to 17, Google is told so, the ads you see are not personalised, and you are not shown the consent form or the tracking prompt. If you are 18 or over, Google may show its consent form where the law requires one, such as in the EEA and UK. You can change that choice later from Privacy choices in the pause menu, which appears when Google requires it.
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
The app uses Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports. A report can include device model, operating system version, app version, the state of the app at the time of the crash, and an installation identifier. It is used only to find and fix bugs. No reports are sent until you have answered the age question. If a crash happens before then, the report waits on your device. If you are 13 or over, crash reports are on by default, and you can turn them off with the Crash reports switch in the pause menu. Turning it off stops reports from being sent and deletes any report still waiting on your device. If you are under 13, crash reports are never sent, the switch is not shown, and any waiting report is deleted. See Firebase privacy information.
Children
Merge Outpost is not directed at children under 13. If a player says they are under 13, the app shows no ads and sends no crash reports, so nothing about them is collected through the app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
Because we do not hold your data, there is nothing for us to export or delete on our side. You control what is on your device. For data held by Google or Firebase, use the controls described in their policies above.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
